The Wipers Times
Role: On set supervisor
Discovering a printing press in the ruins of Ypres, Belgium, Captain Roberts decides to publish a satirical magazine called The Wipers Times. Subversive and full of gallows humor, the 'Times' was also very funny. Produced under enemy fire and gas attacks, against all odds the magazine proved a huge success with the troops on the Western Front. A testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Roberts also managed to win the Military Cross for gallantry.- Written by Mark McCullagh
My first official role as a supervisor i was responsible for all of the on set VFX. This included shots such as crowd extensions, set extensions, explosion additions and the odd clean up shot. As with most productions these days we ran Post along side the shoot and began liaising with the director early on. With in Post i lead a team of 3 other artists but completed most of the shots myself. It was a great experience to follow the shots through from set right to final output.
